Ok, not the best picture but here is the way she came in. Spot on the lower corner is where we did a polish test, looked promising but the corrosion and pitting was very deep.

Ok, not the best picture but here is the way she came in. Spot on the lower corner is where we did a polish test, looked promising but the corrosion and pitting was very deep.
First step is to remove the skin and inspect for water damage. The front panel was damaged beyond saving.
Lannie installs a new birch panel and structural wood
Rear panel suffered the same fate as the front
Here all the damaged wood repaired and the interior is completely refinished at this time.
As usual we insulate before installing new skin.
The new polished skin is patterned exactly to the original skin. Final step (and the most fun) is peeling off the protective plastic covering and admmiring the flawless polish.
