This is the trailer that started it all, a 1962 Tepee purchased from the grandson of the original owner.  I purchased it to restore as a cool accessory to pull behind my 1958 Chevy Biscayne.  First time I restored it in my driveway and used it a couple of years taking it to car shows, rod runs and a few vintage trailer rallies.

Not really satisfied with t he results of the first time, I decided to reskin the trailer in April, 2005 just nine days before a scheduled trip to a rally in Tombstone, AR.  Fortunately the wood structure was in excellent shape with just minor repairs needed.  Just  in time it had all new skin, including the polished aluminum trim and a new paint job.

All the interior birch was refinished, the appliances went from ugly brown to pink, new upholstery and flooring and a custom made counter and table tops were added.  A custom made Flamingo quilt was added to the bed.

We enjoyed this trailer for several years camping and traveling all over the southwest putting many miles on the 58 Chevy.

Today, the Tepee resides as the “Flaming Lounge” rental at the Starlite Classic Campground and is available for lodging.
